Jones described his own high school as a “swamp of emotional turmoil” — does it have to be this way? Susan points out that schools have seen an 11% improvement in test scores when Social Emotional Learning is taught. Teaching emotional intelligence also reduces bullying because people’s feelings are respected, and teachers are modeling using feelings to be smarter.
